Palm Pre touchstone charging start/stop loop problem

Here's a video of my Palm Pre charging on its touchstone. For weeks it's been waking me up during the night so I finally took a video during the day of it starting/stopping its charge. The phone gets very warm and the touchstone as well. Anyone else get this problem with either their pre or pixi? Regardless, I still love the phone...and yes this was filmed on an iPhone!

Sprint gave me a 'blah blah, come back after you try to put it on exactly perfect' when I tried to return it. I'll try another store with a nicer employee.
