HOW TO: DOWNGRADE YOUR FIRMWARE FOR ALL DEVICES (WINDOWS)

Hey youtube, this video will show you how to downgrade your firmware from 3.1.3 to 3.1.2 using windows on all devices. The same steps are applied to other firmwares as well.

1) Go to http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/ and download the 3.1.2 firmware for your device
2) Go to Start, All Programs, Accessories and then right-click on Notepad, and click 'Run as Administrator'.
3) When the Notepad opens up click file and Open
4) When Windows Explorer opens up paste: C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\ into the address bar
5) Click on the drop down box in the lower right hand corner and select All Files
6) Open the Hosts file and paste: 74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com at the bottom line of the file
7) Click File and Save and then close out of Notepad
8) Plug in your device and open iTunes
9) Click on your device in the left hand pane and then hold the shift key and click on restore
10) Select the firmware you downloaded and saved to your desktop and your device will start to restore to 3.1.2

1015 Error Fix: iReb

1) Download iReb (http://www.ih8sn0w.com)
2) Plug device in
3) click Recovery Move Loop Fixer tab
4) Click the top option
5) Device will reboot and kick you out of recovery


1015 Error Fix: Quickpwn

1. First off, make sure you are getting error 1015 in itunes and not some other random one. After confirming, close itunes.(leave iphone plugged in with connect to itunes screen showing)

2. download this old quickpwn file:

3. extract it and run quickpwn. You should get a box saying something like 'your phone needs to be powered on, please hold the home button and sleep\wake button for 15 seconds'. Just do what it says- EXACTLY. When you see the apple logo, press OK. A blue box will appear after, just press OK to that as well.

4. Your phone should now boot normally. when it does,CLOSE QUICKPWN, IT IS NOT USED TO JAILBREAK

@bretl33 it is the same exact process. An easier way is to use tinyumbrella. Save your shsh blobs from cydia using tinyumbrella and then run the TSS server to block itunes from contacting apple

@ianko81 it has to be your iphone or ipod touch generation plus the 3.1.2....mine was 3gs so i had to download 3gs 3.1.2

@ianko81 i had 3gs but you have to go through some different steps to turn your zip file to ipsw and this is the video i used “How to change .zip iPod firmware to .ipsw on Windows” it’s by goguda 55 after that you should be able to get that little icon that looks like a white cube ^^

Can't restore to 3.0 firmware on a 5.01 3gs on iTunes 10, installed older itunes - can't connect my iphone to it - wont read it have to download iTunes 10. im stuck now!
