Theres a heck of an acapella version by Black Tie with Billy Swan on vocals

@4711rock Obviously you have more than a minor grasp of the song, and I can feel your love for it. But....while I agree with you on the trumpet, I think the mando is a perfect fill. The vocal and arrangement are terrific. Great analysis, though.

@ jaccisboy
Better than that? Leo Kottke :-)

One of my all-time favorite songs. One of the best covers I have heard on U-Tube. What could be better than that?!

An audacious cover of Holly's most delicate song. It's very easy to break, as is happening where trumpet & mandolin join in, and because it's a digital recording inferior to Holly's own miked recording on Ampex RTR. Yet, where there's acoustic guitar & vocals only the music is intact. Playing slow and with two instead of one didn't break it. The vocal crescendo didn't break it either. So you guys please keep going and drive carefully rather than fly to your gigs.

Thank you for this - it's easily the best version outside of Buddy's original demo. Can't abide the overdubbed versions. I look forward to a version of 'What To Do'.
Long may you run.
