@Weaponsuser I remember this one too. I still get a good laugh remembering the expression on Kitirik's face. Live TV was very entertaining at times!

Great memories ... Cadet Don & Kitirik!

THIS WAS LIVE TV THEN..... ONCE WHILE KITIRIK WAS ASKING KIDS WHAT THE WANTED TO GROW UP TO BE. A SMALL BLACK KID WAS LAUGHING IN LINE...... WHEN KITIRIK ASKED ,WHY ARE YOU LAUGHING?......
THE KID PROCLAIMED...." CHARLIE CUT A FART" AND THAT EVERYONE LAUGHING....... AHH! THE DAYS OF MY YOUTH. I STILL REMEMBER THAT ,AND LAUGH ABOUT IT, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS BACK IN THE 60'S....

Growning up in Houston still makes me smile...from Sharpstown mall and "the clock" to the 610 loop, one of the first electric billboards, "the sign" on Westheimer, to The Dome...we had it good....
OMG I remeber this!! I was on one of the shows in the early-mid 60s. The little merry-go-round ....interview I guess....hehe I got off way early .and the guy turning it popped me back on the horse. I even remember my answers favborite food....spinach and saying hi to my grandmother. Thanks for posting this!
This brings back so many memories like Houston being a safe city, not 100% gangs. It's just turned into a hellhole

Thanks for stopping by. It's funny how much it has changed. I went by my old jr high (class of 74) and I was so sad to see gang writing and barbed wire fences. Almost like a prisoner of war camp.
I swear, the coaches at our jr high would have tanned some hides if they ever caught someone spray painting the school buildings.
I'm just glad I had a chance to grow up in the 60s before all the PC BS hit the fan. I still call women "mam" and men "sir" and probably always will.

I moved to Meyerland in 65. I don't remember Cadet Don but I will always remember KiTiRiK. Had not been back to Houston for a long time and was rather taken aback/saddened what happened to Sharpstown and the mall. I won a rabbit at the mall in 67 at Easter. Remember the 6 Flags Over Texas clock that opened every hour? Google Sharpstown Mall then click images. There is a 1967 photo of the mall inside.
