@waters2100 again I am sorry for the tone of my first reply it is hard to express yourself through words on a screen. I also have quite a bit of formal education but I do not consider that to add any weight to my statements so I rarely if ever mention it. It doesn't matter who says something only what is said. I also do not in any way support the views of the video as it should stand on it's own as a piece of satire.

Bankers have quite a bit to do with this problem but I do not have the time to explain it. I do not think though that they are alone to blame by any means. Mostly it is political. A compare and contrast of the DR and Haiti sheds quite a bit of light on the issue. Certain trade aggrements make it profitable for the DR to produce tobacco and their own agriculture while Haiti unprotected by such agreements cannot profitably produce. They do not have the advantage of shared modern farming practice.

I apologize for any insult that was not my intention. I am just tired of people not stating useful replies. I went to Haiti during the relief effort. We passed out millions of pounds of food but somehow did not change their country. No surprise really because we feed them a fish and didn't teach them how to fish.

A long time ago they did have agriculture sadly because of trade agreement and crop subsidizing in major countries they are unable to produce food profitably.

wow. I would like to ask what kind of research you have done into banking. It is very cute that you have voiced an opinion but please do a little bit of studying first. I would suggest looking into International Political Economy. Maybe a little research into banking practices( you can even read them on the federal reserve web site) and you might also want to study economic sanctions, trade agreements and international trade laws. good luck.:)
