  • I thought that line was washed out.

  • @9yearoldtrashman I think you're thinking of the Port of Tillamook Bay line from Banks to Tillamook, which has been washed out since 2008. The Portland & Western Astoria Line is completely open, though there are no rail customers in Astoria so they only operate as far as Wauna.

  • Any idea where they were headed and why?

  • They made a special run for local officials from Scappoose to the brand new ethanol plant at Port Westward and back. This was after the run; they had already dropped all the passengers off at Scappoose and were headed to Portland, probably to return the passenger cars to BNSF.
