Ibnu Katsir berkata dalam tafsirnya : Allah -ta'ala- melarang Nabi -sholallahu 'alaihi wasallam- dan orang-orang yang beriman untuk menghina tuhan-tuhan orang-orang musyrikin. walaupun didalamnya terdapat kebaikan, akan tetapi itu akan menyebabkan keburukan yang lebih besar, yaitu mereka akan balik menghina Allah yang tidak ada tuhan yang patut diibadahi selain dari-Nya.
