@SpeedRacer942 the cats are in the mid-pipe...so, when u get longtubes you have to buy a mid-pipe made to fit the LT's..i had 2 cats taken out, and had a custom x-pipe made...you will see a night and days difference in longtubes, and a little in shortys, but enough to tell...but i just switched from LT's to shortys because of technical problems, and the shortys are louder....but dont give but about half as mach power as the LT'S....and i just looked at the date and feel like a retard, haha......

what kinda flo pro muffler do you have? my buddy had some one his 89 stepside 5.7 and they sounded by-far, best muffler ive ever heard, but we didnt know what kinda muffler they were when we checked the flopro site
so i was lookin at headers for my 99 5.3, would you recommend the shortys or should i go with long tubes?

depends on the rest of you plans for exhaust. i went with the shorties because i already had the rest of the exhaust done and they bolted right in. if you dont have custom exhaust done yet and you want free flowing exhaust with no cats go with long tubes. if you want something that bolts right in go with shorties. also depends on your budget. long tubes will be allot more. and dont cheap out on headers, go with a good name brand, it will make your swap allot easier.

ok. how do you eliminate the cats with the long tubes? do the sensors just go into the headers or what?

youd have to ask someone at an exhaust shop thats done long tubes on those trucks. i havnt done any.

if your goin with headers you definately gonna be lookin at payin more than that depending on what the labour rate is for custom exhaust...
