  • When Tom left DW it was like a milestone in my life, It was around the same time as I finished junior school and went to the "big" secondary.. It was like leaving childhood behind and the start of adolescence, Tom had and still has the ability to make childhood sound magical. He was then to me like a mad uncle we could all go and visit every saturday.. and look forward to see through the week. So many love him today because he can take us back to our childhood with such warmth.. Thanks Tom

  • 0:42 Scarves... what can't they do?

  • First time seeing this, I sort of cried

  • @PaulGBass I'd say Caves is great, but not indispensible. To me JNT only produced one story that stood above what had gone before- Enlightenment. But neither counteracts the critical mass of atrocious bad work JNT produced. Funny you said Davison seemed weak and frail, I found him to lack any of the Doctor's heroic fighting spirit- he was a total appeaser. Occasionally in Earthshock or Caves he'd show some heroism but only when written against type. To me the show should have ended on Logopolis

  • @PaulGBass well i think hes good. but hey, agree to disagree.

  • @animationdude56 Disagree there. Saw that at the time and its totally overrated, just Phantom of the Opera on an alien planet with cheap effects. Genesis of the Daleks, Talons of Weng Chiang, The Time Warrior, The Invasion, etc. Davison annoyed me with his repetitive harping on about how old and frail he was because he was theoretically older than Hartnell, Troughton, Pertwee and Baker, yet obviously younger. Strange how no doctor since has been weakening with theoretical age, witness Matt Smith.

  • @PaulGBass davidson is actually very good. he actually had the story that most doctor who fans consider to be the best doctor who episode ever, The Caves of Androzani.

  • @barkon i think the sixth doctor was one of the best. well, ok, the costume did bring him down a bit, but you cant deny he was a good doctor. if there had been different writers, he probably would have stayed longer. the audio books with colin's doctor are apparently very good. i think hes a good doctor because his personality is very dark which contrasts with his costume very much, which, when you think about it, works very well.

  • @moonlitshadow27 well, this was the 1980's. they probably wouldnt destroy a set and put it on fire back then, it would be considered a wast of money. especially with a low budget.

  • the watcher looks like a retard

  • @TheWhupper To be honest no, it probably costs the same as it would now. Just you can do more for the same money and some things were plain not possible eg CGI.
