  • Wondering if the scapula retraction makes this and other pulls safer for people with Rotator Cuff issues? I have a thin spot in mine. I practice retraction/ protraction 4-5 days a week. Thanks.

  • Yes, retracting first increases the sub-acromial space, making it optimal

  • The bike one feels so much better than the regular one. I'll have to try with pulling the scapula back first aswell. Which one do you prefer?

  • The bikes feel great and yes, definitely start the movement with a retraction.

  • Are there alternative ways of completing the Face Pull if access to a cable machine is not available? Thanks Smitty!

  • thanks nigger

  • thanks for posting video was looking for a good example of this

  • would this help if i have a rear deltoid imbalance ( my left one WAY bigger then my right rear deltoid ) ?

  • I think the doc is basing that suggesting on the assumption that no matter what I do the pressure from the winging scapular and inflammation from 47 year old tendons is going to remain.

  • Great! I have a couple of complications: Scoliosis near the top and winged scapula on that side. This may make it impossible to increase the acromial space on that side. Have you heard of anything I can do for that? One doc, because of that, my age and high level of activity suggest shaving surgery. Any special exercises or sources would be appreciated. Kind Regards, Dave

  • Which grip is better to use for this exercise? palms upward or downard? And how would you keep your balance doing this if you're standing?
