QTH: Apach, France
This TV-Bandscan was made directly on the border from Germany to France, already in community Apach on French side.
Following stations could be received from France as Secam-L:
VHF-1: none
VHF-3: none
UHF:
ch 37: Metz (Luttange) - TF 1
ch 22: Sarrebourg (Le Donon) - France 2
ch 31: Metz (Luttange) - France 3
receiver:
Citizen T530 (colour system Secam-L) with telescope antenna
Due to a lack of good reception, you can see quite well the famous "Secam-Fire" and/or a blue and red turning picture, before colour is lost completely, which is typical of Secam colour system.
You can see this effect well up from 00:55s, when TF 1 turns red before colour is lost.
Despite of that all, I personally think that Henry de France's Secam is a good colour system.
Due to Secam-L norm, I was not able to receive the TV-stations from Belgium with a clear picture, because our West European PAL B/G norm looks totally different like inverted picture on that TV !
Not on video:
Following stations I could receive from Belgium at this place:
VHF-3: RTBF-La Une (ch E8 Wavre)
UHF: RTBF-La Deux (ch E28 Wavre), Be1 (ch E50 Wavre)

Great! *****
French will always be different. When I was on summer vaccation in France, I could only receive BBC without sound and dutch language Belgian and Nederlands TV. French TV was as you said a total mess, like inverted b/w signal on a PAL B/G TV-set.
SECAM keeps the signal better on longer distances but PAL hasn't the colour sync problems with red fire as SECAM. PAL you have either colour or B/W, nothing between....

Nice video! I remember the "SECAM fire" which I encountered in the 80s while watching GDR TV on a portable set.
