I mean John Ritter did a great job but i actually preferred spade and gardner. It's a shame they canceled it.

Well it was really amazing this show lasted that long with out Ritter.

i cant believe this is how the show ended! Paul was a big part of the show (R.I.P John Ritter) and even though he made the show hilarious, its still pretty funny! I think the show shouldve at least gone on for a few more years! It seems to me the only answer for the ending it had was that the show was cancelled. But its hard to beleive that a show like this could get cancelled...

I don't think this was meant to be the last episode. I think they were expecting to have another season, but it got cancelled instead. Obviously.

I think it's good either way. I mean I cried when i first saw his dying episode....but idk why I just love CJ =) I miss this show.

It really does suck that this was the last episode but I can see why it left. I mean, CJ and the grandpa were fine additions to the show but without John Ridder (the dad) it just didn't feel the same. I think he was the one who made the show funny with his paranoia to his daughters dating and his goofiness.
This was a good last episode though, it just leaves you with a cliffhanger to think about how the family goes on with the mom dating again. R.I.P 8 Simple Rules, one of the best sitcoms.

I dont get why the cancelled it, everyone i know loved 8 simple rules. I know it sucked that Paul died but I think CJ is funny...
