  • "Big Thank you", This is the only time I have seen doctor using the tube connected to identify tympanic membrane movement to diagnose infection. In the last twenty five years I have not seen any doctor use the connecter or know why the aurascope has a hole or the connecter on the head. Doctors assume red ears is infection but tympanic membrane can go red after sneezing, blowing your nose hard or crying. Its a shame that doctors have abused antibiotics using this clinical examination.

  • do I have to be for or against? Of course I'm FOR them, they save lives.

My daughter had a double ear infection two weeks ago, we took her screaming and vomiting to the ER. They prescribed an antibiotic. When I took her to her GP for a follow up her response was "most ear infections go away."

there's a fine line between overusing and suffering

there's worry over over-prescribing, but not much being done about antibiotics in the meat we buy

  • @ItsybitsyspiderMamma

so are you for antibiotics or against

  • great, just what we needed. More fodder to push for curbing anitbiotic use.
