Yes, I realize I left out Following (1998). I didn't have access to the film.

  • Everyone who enjoyed this video should check out the updated/expanded version. Thanks for watching.

  • Great job blending the dialogue, scenes, music, sound effects, camera shots and themes together! How long did it take you to edit this? Where you going for visual continuity or thematic or both?

And for all those Michael bay haters....his specialty is action. He is very good at it. His place in the movie world is to enertain in a highly visual and energetic way.

  • @tiberiius It took me a couple of weeks, I believe. To answer your question, it was definitely a mix of the two. Tying shots together in a way that felt right, also exploring the pervasive theme of obsession.

  • This video will be updated with "Following" and "Inception" when MacBook Pros start growing on trees. I don't want to half-ass it. Rest assured, it will be worth the wait.

  • I think Memento is his best movie, way better than Inception. Inception has really good special effects, but clearly shows more commercial interest...

Memento, a low budget movie, is sooo great

  • @nhenry87 According to his cinematographer, Nolan sees something in Bay's craft. Ironic, since they're usually used as the dichotomy of crap versus quality.

  • @LogicHat of course there's _a_lot_ wrong with bays movies, but hes not an amateur, and theres a lot that you can observe and admire from any director.

in tdk batman in hk hang gliding was cg and green-screen (as in not actually flying through hk). the wingsuit stunts in the last transformers were real (as in actually flying through chicago). nolan always talks about how much he dislikes cg and likes to keep everything realistic, well thats at least one case where he could learn from bay

  • this is really good. especially from 3:55 onward, the music with the scenes and the transitions between them are very smooth.

  • @victor1174 was on the edge of my seat the 1st time i saw it.superb acting by bale and jackman and caine.......

  • Christopher Nolan is the best director of this age of movies.

  • Just awesome.

  • Good director, but not great.
