I had been playing Tetris for months before finally achieving this feat on March 7, 2006. Supposedly, it's the first time anyone in the world has done it.

He said in the description that he used Super GB to record it. SGB, like GB Color, plays GB games with a palette of 4 colors replacing the 4 shades of the games. He probably used it because there is no other way (maybe the GB Player, I'm not sure) to play this game using a cartridge and being able to record it with a good quality.

That being said, I agree with you. I knew people back in the 90s that maxed out this game and could play the same game for hours. But this is very good tetris indeed.

Game Boy Player is the preferred way these days, because the Super Game Boy runs slightly faster (about 1.4%) faster than it should. The fact that this is faster than on a Game Boy makes this even more impressive.

I vividly remember my mom taking me to get my first Game Boy when I was about 8 (1991). I used to think Tetris was the only game available for it. Great memories.
