This song plus Matt Chandler sermon bytes help us believers see we can do nothing to defeat him, but he has already been defeated by the blood of Christ. If we trust in that he remains defeated. He claims a death is necessary for the sin in our lives, and we point to the cross.

@cassmidgley it's all about being humble brother. we all need to realize that none of us are anywhere close to perfect. we're all "cursed and gone astray" but God loves us so immensely, that He sent His son to die in our place. i wouldn't say that we "demean ourselves", rather we understand that we're broken and we need Jesus.

Grace driven effort is rage filled and violent? I don't know what that means. But it sounds about as twisted as this "gospel". Modern Christians go to such efforts to demean themselves and what it means to be human. Any good parent praises their children, to convince them of their beauty, power, value, talents, potential, hope, etc. Has it ever occurred to these people that angry daddy's are jerks?
