good video, some nice techniques and combos being used. good sparring

Sorry, technique is really not that solid in this sparring session. Don't mean to be rude and not trying to insult but you really ought to focus more on solid stance and proper technique before "hard" sparing. Coming from a TBA gym here.

@Psychodifferent there's no such thing as sparring too hard. Sparring can range from light to all out, going for knockouts. This is on the hard side.

wish my gym sparred like this everyones always trying to finish each other

Plus - You learn alot more if you cut down the power and concentrate on timing and rhythm/counter attacks, avoiding strikes and learning to keep your eyes open (beat the flinch instinct) etc. Leave the hard stuff for the ring!! These are big guys aswell!! Techniques NOT bad though

THEY WERE GOING PRETTY HARD THERE

nice vid,good stuff
keep it up.........

@hondaonly haha man don't scare the kid lol
These guys are sparring too hard. They dont spar like that in Thailand cos you dont learn the rhythm/style and timing that you need. Plus, you just end up clashing knees etc, get injured and then cant train to the maximum next time!

@Psychodifferent yes, this sparring was for a (testing) ranking position and meant to be for 10 hard rounds with different partners after each round. We do both types of sparring, light and hard depending on what aspect of training we are working on. Im actually going to thailand next week so Im sure Ill get plenty of light contact work.

Gotta love the trash talkers... But seriously I've had some "unofficial" training from a Muay Thai expert in my town and I've had some professional Karate training and boxing training and I'm curious to know you're preferred sparring gear brand. Thanks

@RuneScapeNovice It really all depends on preference of the person and how into the sport they are. Just to name some of the gear we choose to wear: Top King shin guards for the fit and little slipage during use. Fairtex makes quality gear, although a bit pricey. But for gloves & headgear i would have to say Winning from Japan if you are willing to pay the price.
