This is a how-to designed to teach you the steps to take to export a Freemind mind map to an Open Office document formatted as an outline. The file is exported with an odt extension and can be output as a Word file from Oo Writer. Open Office Writer and Freemind are open source and freely downloadable from the net. Freemind can be downloaded from http://freemind.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Download and Open Office from Openoffice.org

  • thanks for yr work :)

  • Excellent and much appreciated. Can you tell me why I have great gaps - big spaces between some of the sections - when I actually print out the odt file. For example I have what out to be about a three page document that actually uses six sheets of paper. Every second page uses only the top 2 1/2 to three inches. The rest is blank.

  • This is much appreciated. I was looking for guidance on how to outline in OO Writer. I had no idea that one can export Freemind map to Writer! Excellent! Thanks...
