PROJECT CONSTELLATION Remix: REQUIEM?.avi

NASA's Project Constellation -- doomed by lack of funding & support, "Not-Invented-Here" syndrome, political interference and bad design choices. America loses the chance - for a THIRD time - to make the Moon another home for mankind. Well, maybe not a home per se; but the opportunity to make the Moon less of a colony but more than an Antarctica-style outpost. It saddens me so much to think that I will now never see mankind walk on Mars in my lifetime and that I will be elderly when humans walk on the Moon again. Why must this type of thing stay in the realm of Science Fiction, computer-generated animations and artist's paintings! WHY?!

There has to be a way to make America, to make MANKIND a space-faring species for less than 1% percent per-annum of the U.S. Federal Discretionary Budget. Space is cheaper than War. Space is bigger and better than the handful of influential U.S. Politician's who bring it down and belittle it (no names - some of you know who I mean).

The two most recent U.S. Presidents had the chance to be the J.F. Kennedy of THIS generation, to build on the great legacy of America's space program and it's people. They FAILED. But it is NOT too late to succeed. "Constellation" doesn't need cancellation: it needs pragmatic alteration and change. This is the 21st Century. We need to do things worthy of a new, great Century. It is not too late...
