Matter is self propelled. It is directed where to go by Gravity.

The direction takes very little power... matter does all the work.

Gravity is not a force... it is an instruction.

Does it require power for one to step on the gas pedal to propel one's car?

When a Band is up on stage and the kids are gyrating in the mosh pit, is the band forcing the kids to gyrate?

I wonder if your proposed scenarios: #2 and #4 could exist in the same reality. By some accounts there are multiple types of "aliens" and some transcend our physical world.

What I'm trying to say is that there are different levels of intelligence in the universe. We might be closer to some aliens then to others in terms of our biology or dimension we occupy. Aliens million years more advanced then us could still be stuck in the matrix
