Emil Sauer's "Etude-Galop" performed on a Bluthner piano fitted with a Hupfeld Phonola player. The roll (and indeed an acousitc recording of Sauer playing the same piece here on Youtube) are both marked "Galop de Concert" but that is a different piece of music. The score for this may be downloaded free from IMSLP.org. The performance is re-created from a metronomically arranged piano roll with 65-note compass.

  • this is a 65-88 instrument. Hupfeld did also make 65-note rolls themself for a short time. The roll in the video is a UK Imperial roll.
