R.I.P Dennis. I didn't know he'd passed until I found this : ( I was looking to contact him to say thank you for a small article he'd written on his website about my late Uncle.
He very kindly invited me to his home when I was put in touch with him 4 years ago asking about uke's. Loved his company every last Friday at the Sheffield do.He even allowed me to play his "crap" Ludvig as I called it on our first meeting. Always dedictated my fav' formby song to me when he sang "Other Side Of The World " A True Gent" and every bloody month he still tried to get me on the stage singing and playing with him, Wished to god I had now. RIP Dennis,
Hard to find words. The man was a genius, lived life to the full, a perfect gentleman. I have lost a true friend, as have many others. The man taught me to play uke (unfortunately badly) not your fault Dennis!, we mucked about too much. I will miss the banter, you had so much more to contribute to the Formby society, God bless
