can a baby born with HIV grow out of the disease ?
shelbynew82 1 month ago
@shelbynew82: This is Eric; I'm not a doctor. If a baby is confirmed HIV+ one year after delivery, they are HIV+ for life. They will not "grow out" of being HIV+. However, ARVs may enable them to live a normal quality and length of life, and we can hope that in the future genetic therapies may yield a "functional cure" for HIV.
