This guide to basic suspension set-up shows that adjusting suspension is much simpler than you might imagine.

Using a Triumph 675R equipped with the latest, fully-adjustable Öhlins suspension we show you how to set up your forks and rear shock.

Out of the crate settings are a huge compromise as they have to factor in massive variation in rider weight and riding conditions, so spending time getting the settings right can transform your bike - you'll undoubtedly want different suspension settings for trackdays and touring for example.

Whilst suspension is often seen as a black art that many don't like to touch, we explain the jargon, including preload, rebound and compression damping, and show that with some basic tools and an understanding of the different adjustment possible you can make a big difference to your bikes handling.
