Then he'd be using DirectX or some other Win32 application programming interface (API), which no longer really makes it simple. I guess it depends on what you call simple. I've never touched DirectX myself.

Does C++ actually allow you to update a specific line of output? It doesn't look like you're clearing the screen after each frame.
