@Thudothwacker no facial capture, just body. and no you don't need an xbox 360. DO NOT buy a kinect bundle with the console. It has no USB to use in the PC. Buy it seperate and then download the correct software to run it in. try brekel(dot)com or ipisoft(dot)com, although ipisoft has better results it isn't real time

Nice Mocap is awesome way to get 3d character animation. Has anyone tried the Mixamo dot com libraries, I heard they use mocap too. I tried some from carnegie mellon that were alright but a little weird after I re-targeted. Anyway it look awesome. What is the cheapest route? I hate trying to animate my self, rigging is more interesting.

There's someone who wrote some good facial capture for Kinect. No you don't need an xbox just a computer. I'll Message you some links that convey how awesome the kinect is for cheap, but good, mo-cap.

@DaakuRyuusuke Buy a Kinect. Download OpenNI and the free mods people have made for Mo-cap.
Tis the easiest and cheapest way to do mo-cap.

pretty cool but in reality its completely useless. cameras that can only capture at 30fps make fast movements impossible. it can only track 4 points so im not really sure what you could possibly use that for. and even though its very basic i can still see quite a few glitches on the laptop
