Does anyone buy this bullshit? Get us out of this sham of an organisation pronto. We don't need a bunch of failed Commies telling us how to live for a huge cost.

@BugMagnet
As you said,1 million signatures required for the petition to be submitted for approval,meaning,this is just "firework",to give some democratic arguments to the european union,when facing critics.

I agree, more education on politics would be better (without any ideology of course).

@GeneralForgeron I think it would make sense to increase public education on such things. How many of these 500 million citizens know about this possibility and how many of them do even care about politics?
I'm not an expert myself but I fear that the number of people in europe who are well educated and informed on a broad field of politics would be rather something like 5 million

@BugMagnet there are 500 million citizens in the EU countries. approx. 350 million are eligible to vote. so 1 million is just the 0,3% of the voting population - maybe you'll find that much who can understand your issue. still it's a tremendous work to collect all the signatures, that's for sure.

Sounds interesting but it is hard to gather one million signatures which, as I understood, is necessary to make the commission deal with a certain subject. For some important subjects I doubt that there even are 1 million europeans who understand the issue alone.
