DubaiWorld (Part 1)

DubaiWorld presents an open-ended meditation on the current development of Dubai, as an example of a new form of urbanism taking shape around the world. Shot on location in the United Arab Emirates, DubaiWorld is a response to a weeklong visit intended to discover the nature of theme-park urbanism in the 21st Century, and to uncover what resides behind its immaculate facade. DubaiWorld explores the urban format of building a city based on the principals of theme-park design, and its preoccupation with visual spectacle created for touristic consumption.
