All the animation was built in 3DS Max 2008 with Fume FX 1.2. Fume FX has four objects in the scene with the flames, dripping partials, and lamp shade using the same Fume FX simulation. The smoke is the second simulation in the scene. Both flame and smoke use a material gradient for the Fume FX simulation. Black to white, white being the highest flame. Hope this helps.
