Good stuff here! I am starting to wonder about myself lately... Am starting to think I have little or no ADD and more anxiety. Finally diagnosed with sleep apnea and feel a lot of symptoms may disappear after CPAP. I hope... If it ever gets authorized.... Moving at the speed of government =)

Awesome video :) I went through a long depression at the end of school and was diagnosed with social anxiety and eventually ADD. Depression was partly because of the suicide of a friend of mine, and partly because of my constant failures in school. I was bitter that i hadn't been diagnosed earlier, because with meds I might not have dropped out during the last 4 months of high school. The biggest danger with ADD is probably the constant failures that slowly chip away at my self-image.chrctr lmit

When I read about Dextroamphetamine it almost seems like a poison. Are there any safe meds for ADD? I feel trapped here...

Some people live with ADD forever and never complain :)

i started being treated for Adult ADD in 2001 when i was 40 yr old . I then spent 2 yrs looking back and knowing how much different my WHOLE life would have been if med's had been avilable for me as a child instead of being labeled Hyperactive. I maybe wouldnt of had to FEEL awkward and Different during my formative yrs. but then it hit me that looking back wasted all of my "Now" energy and to allow myself to live in the present as a adult (medicated ) ADD person.

Jesus, I'm so screwed in the head. I have low self esteem, I have apathy towards everything, I wait till the very last minute to do anything, I'm failing college, I'm ruining my relationship, I only find interest in things that I have no busy being interested in, I can't perform one simple task without freaking out or completing, and I'm 32 and unemployed.
I think I'm losing my mind!!!
Wow you are so right. My 4th grade teacher threw my desk across the room because it was messy. Also my 8th grade teacher said...." Suzie, ... you're a weird little girl" I have never forgotten these things.

@suzsawyer7 Yes, my fifth grade teacher told everyone in class how messy my desk was and to never have a desk like mine. That stuff sticks with you.

wow! great video! My doctor just told me he thinks I have Adult ADD. My mouth dropped, part of me thought, no not me. But then that disbelief quickly disappeared, because it made alot of sense. I did a little research, and then came to Youtube, watched your video and now the last 20 years or so of my life make sense. I am waiting to start on Dexadrine, if my insurance covers it. What's your opinion of that medication? does it work well?

Hi Nurse613,
I'm glad the video was so helpful to you. I can't comment on the effectiveness of Dexadrine for you personally, because side effects and benefits vary from person to person.
