  • This did -and still DOES- kick ass from the first note to last. Gladys testifies with knowing authority throughout the song telling us all not to put up with mistreatment, and I'll bet that strength in her voice helped many a broken heart to mend. I was just on the threshold of teenhood when this new, and only later did we realize what an embarrassment of riches all these wonderful Motown classics were. We were so, so lucky to be the targeted and ready audience for this stuff then.

  • How refreshing! There's is NOTHING like the original group.

  • Forget all the rest - The Marvelettes were are the greatest group EVER! I can't recall their making a bad record and they deserved a lot better recognition. The Supremes were good, but this lot were better! Signed, a British 60's girl group fanatic.

  • Motown-The Greatest Record Label in The World xx

  • we still have these records to feed us...i love the scratchy sounds of the LPs

where the heck is any of us now so soon dear choon and all that

  • too many comments cut me out a eminem,,,

    is this true?

  • one word!........Choon......

  • I've heard that this is the song that the Marvelettes selected over "Baby Love."

  • Given recent events, I knew just what song to listen to. Now I feel better :)

  • I was in the James Brown show from 1965 until 2005 and we never looked up to ANY other act or company, EXCEPT Some of the Motown people we knew, Tammy was first with our show and after she and James broke up, she went to Motown. The Marveletts were simply incredible as long as James Jamerson was on Bass and Barry was in the "Snake Pit" What sad luck these kids had when the lights went out and middle age come on, Still we have these records to feed us with pure God sent TALENT!

  • Wonderful stuff. Everything that Motown did was just outstanding back then.

  • The Jerk -the Swim - Mickey's Monkey - all in one swoop - perfect-

everyone who knows - knows - LOL!!!
