A great drill to get the golf club on the correct path in the takeaway. To have your swing analyzed for free, go to http://www.savemygolfgame.com and upload your swing!

  • @MrRegalLegal Yeah I get that-I just think such an exaggeration of an inside path is going to give the reverse problem. Id prefer to just repeat over and over taking it away on plane-or even a LITTLE inside

  • @cockywatchman1976 This is a DRILL to correct an OUTSIDE swing path not a full out explanation on what the correct swing path is. This man's credentials are incredible and his knowledge should not be doubted. And if you listen to what he actually says "For those that take the golf club outside the target line" at 0:10. By over doing something you begin to naturally correct what is happening many teachers teach to over exaggerate a drill.

  • @MrRegalLegal It teaches you to come way inside instead of what you were doing before. Most poor players come way too inside to start anyway. Why not teach to takeaway on plane?

  • @MrRegalLegal no he doesn't..when? He says you bring it inside. It just teaches you to swing way too in to out and hit big sweeping hooks-or huge pushes...depending on clubface open or closed.

  • @cockywatchman1976 @mj102919 He says if you bring the club outside... so the drill is correct

  • Ah yes, the CORRECT and [compared to lifting your arms in the swing] EFFORTLESS back-swing. This guy knows exactly what he's talking about. It's amazing how much less energy is used during the entire back-swing by turning your shoulders to initiate the takeaway [and back-swing] and not lifting the club [yet]. Your arms will lift, but mostly by centrifugal force, and not until your back is almost to the target. You arms truly should not "lift" until much later than many people believe.

  • I have tried this at the range and it works great.Everything feels much more natural. What would be the down side of using this method for your on course swing.I would think more people would try this but are afraid of just looking different.?...?

  • This drill also demonstrates the feeling of a proper hip turn and how the left knee breaks back behind the ball on the backswing.

  • Great drill if you find you're coming over the top occasionally. Quickly gets the correct feeling back which stays with you when you put your right foot back on line

  • Don't try this if you have an aggressive, long hitting golf swing ... you will develope a huge hook.
