This is part 3 of a 12 part program called "Four Days in November" which I taped in November of 1988. This part starts with Harry Reasoner describing the scene at Andrews Air Force Base in Bethesda Maryland on the evening of November 22, 1963.

  • The video making program I use makes it very difficult to get the commercials out. So I leave them in for that reason, and also another reason-which I will explain as followed. I figured that the commercials captured the time of November of 1988 as well as the program captures the time of November, 1963. I surmised that most people who watch these videos are history afficionados, so in my mind it is an added historical feature of the videos. Take care.

  • Of course had Oswald not been gunned down by Jack Ruby he would have been charged eventually with Kennedy's death but any District attorney will tell you that that it would be easier to get a conviction in the Tippit case instead of Kennedy's because of eyewitness accounts.

  • This is media misinformation that needs to finally be corrected.Lee Harvey Oswald was never officially charged with President Kennedy's death. He was charged with 1st degree murder in the shooting death of dallas Police officer J.D. Tippit.

  • I will never forgot George Herman's words "President John F. Kennedy comes back to the White House for the last time". Those were very piercing words.

  • "I don't think thats there's any point in being Irish if you dont know that the world is going to break your heart eventually" The heart break must of been overwhelming.

  • @luridplanet Excellent point.

  • GEEZ THIS TAKES ME BACK. I REMEMBER BEING 9 years old and my parents crying the whole time

  • The coffin was empty

  • I was 9 years old when President Kennedy died. Even at that young age, I couldn't help but feel doom and gloom, as if the wheels were coming off. I don't mind the commercials; they were a necessary evil then as now. Thank you for supplying these videos. They're important.

  • of course it was a plot... poor Jack... it would be nice if he were president now in our time instead of the 60s, maybe now he wouldn{t have been assasinated

  • I know this is off-topic, but John Madden has really aged in the last twenty years. He looks a lot different.
