David was inspired by the Eva Cassidy version of this song. Her version is very much like David's, beautiful and emotional. David is carrying her torch wonderfully.

You sing very well! My soul listens to it.

I think it's funny that some commentors say his version is "a fail..." "he ruined this song..." etc. No one cares what you think. Yoko Ono loved it. I'm gonna go ahead and say she might be a little more in touch with what kind of performance honors the song than some random poster on YouTube.

Beautiful, John Lennon would be proud, remember it's the message.

i hope everybody will be able to reflect with this song

Anyway he sings good, and he sings with his heart. He HONORS the songwriter John Lennon.

*sigh* I really don't like this. I can take a cover from Lady Gaga, but the day David Archuleta sings it is the day it becomes a fail. x]

Just to let the douche bags that don't know good music know, this is a John Lennon song. Eva Cassidy did a cover of it, so don't give her all the credit for this, she made this version but John Lennon made this song.

@huevito93 yea i know i agree with you. the mainstream music today is bullshit. the kids now a days are being brainwashed and think they know a lot about music. the thing is the kids only listen to the beat and flow of the music, where the lyrics don't mean shit.
This comment has received too many negative votes show

if you don't like the arrangement you should blame Eva Cassidy. Oh guess you can't since she's dead. Get some taste.

By the way, what's up with all the "boooos" from the crowd, especially at the beginning?? I'm curious if anyone has any insight to the reason. Maybe someone who was there could shed a little light on this. Because I don't understand how anyone could boo him singing this song.

No one was booing David. It was an outdoor mall, and there was a lot of activity around - I don't remember what was going on in the background.
