The side kick is one of the most widely recognized variations of Taekwondo's kicking technique. The crucial elements of the side kick motion are founded in the chambering of the knee, then the extension of the knee. It is important to maintain a straight line with the heel of the foot from the floor to the target. In doing so, the maximum force of the kick will be applied. Training for the side kick should begin with hip flexibility exercises.
