my one rep max on these is 160 pounds. The gym only had 150's so I just rep those out. I know the form is pretty ugly, but this is close to my body weight. Alot of people can't even cheat curl their body weight with 2 hands. It's ALOT harder then it looks. If you don't believe me, try doing that with practically your body weight. Believe it or not, these have helped increase my strict curls alot too. I would usually do 100lbs or so, if I were doing regular curls. I don't cheat this hard all the time though, but they are a good shock the body. From what Iv'e heard, the current world record dumbell cheat curl is 180 pounds by Christian Ursu a polish Strongman. There is actually a video of him here on youtube doing 176 pounds in the dumbell cheat curl or 60 kgs. If you want to consider it a clean then fine, but however you look at it it is not easy by any means. And ya, it is a great power excersise much like cleans/kettlebell swings etc. They are also great for training for armwrestling as many of them use cheat curls especially cheat preacher curls/concentraiton curls.

  • I understand what you are trying to do (and lifting 150 with one arm is no easy feat) but you are lifting way too damn heavy to incorporate the actual fundamental principals of a cheat curl. Props to you for getting that much weight up without hurting yourself, but the results you desire would be better obtained with a lower weight that your bicep muscle can still have SOME control over. Usually going heavy is to help with the negative concentration of the curl which is totally lacking here.

  • @dreamside13 As this video is over 3 years old.I usually do not go this crazy often. Bt used here and there have found it beneficial in increasing strength, power and explosiveness. These are more my goals over just targeting the biceps for growth. I have vids up and more recent ones of me setting American/World records in curls in competition which are judged and stricter then this. So in that regard I have been able to achive resu I have desired. Hope that somewhat helps to explain my goal.

  • i think you are just setting youself up for some serious injuries. strick form and consistency and u will see you gains gradually.

  • @RANarine Because I train mainly for strength, major overload like this at times I have found to help me. It has helped me achive American/World records in my divisions in competition which I have vids of.. I don't go this crazy often though, but have found it usefull now and then and is a fun change for me as well. Also, you can get injured doing just about any lift really..

  • what was the point of doing that?

  • @RANarine To gain strength explosivess, and get the feel for heavier weight. This is not something I do all the time but have found it to work great to shock the body into strenth gains used now and then.

  • @powabuilda paul is a asshole nuff said!

  • @robroy122 Ya paul I saw it good work! And don't worry about him atleast he can somewhat see the difficulty in it.

  • @blastodermx4 you faggot blastodermx4 i tied Nate look at my profile video,AND YOU BLASTO HAVE NO SKILLS SO YOU TRY TO LIVE THROUGH OTHER'S ACHIEVEMENTS

  • @MrHeatno1 It may look that way but to me its still a cheat curl because my arm is going up in a curl like motion and supinating at the top. An with a clean you usually dive under the weight instead of lean back to get it up..But whatever it looks like it is very difficult to do with nearly your own bodyweight for repetitions at any age let alone 17.
