OoT: Ice Cavern Iron Boots as Child (Bottle skip)

A quick run of the Ice Cavern as child Link, up to the Iron Boots. This skips getting a Bottle, but the hover to get into the Ice Cavern is a bit long (around 9 bombs), so I would only do this in a race if you're already going to Jabu anyway (and you have enough bombs as child).

Anyway, to start off, Freezards are immune to the Kokiri Sword, so storing a Deku Stick jumpslash and using power crouch stabs is one way to kill them. I think bombs would work too, but that's not ideal.

In the next room, Kazooie found this jumpslash clip through the red ice leading to the block pushing room. I found a buffer strategy using a chu that I think is pretty easy. It goes like this:
1. Get in the corner and turn around
2. C-up and line up like I do in the video (I put the left-most heart just barely inside the high silver rupee)
3. Exit C-up, run forward a bit to get out of the corner, pivot 180 degrees, then Z target
4. Jumpslash to make sure your angle is right (Link should clip through the red ice to the right)
5. Run all the way into the corner, pull out a chu, and buffer to the 8th flash
6. On the 8th flash, hold R for one frame to drop the chu
7. On the next frame, release R and buffer the B button to start a slash
8. Advance a few frames (I think it's 3) until you can see Link's blue sheath
9. Buffer A to jumpslash and you will clip through the ice

The block pushing room is pretty standard. Ground jumps won't get you high enough, so you actually have to push the block around. You can still get that one silver rupee in red ice with a jumpslash.

The final red ice can be gotten through with a superslide. The angle is not precise at all. I've never gotten a superslide and not clipped through the ice, so it's definitely easy. Just clear out some of the icicles and superslide through.

In case you didn't know, the Serenade cutscene will not play as child Link, so there's no need to kill yourself to skip the cutscene.

Hopefully this video shows a few tricks you didn't know about how to get the Iron Boots as child Link. It doesn't come up often in races (I've only done it once), but it might come in handy sometime.

@mzxrules no, if you go back to the room with the iron boots chest as adult link, the cutscene starts immediately and you learn the serenade like normal
