How Many Gospels Are There?

Dr. James Howell explains why there are four Gospel accounts about Jesus in the Bible. Why don't they agree completely? What about other "lost" or "hidden" accounts about Jesus, like the Gospel of Thomas?

@jameshowell3186 Watch the Creg Evans vs Bart Ehrman debate on youtube.There are 9 good videos on hard core scholarship debate.All copies of new testament scripture are different to each other,and stuff was added in in later times compared to older copies of the new test.

@jameshowell3186 If my statements are factual,then this would make it correct instead of incorrect.I don't claim any of my statements are factual,but again, my statements are factual when I say that not every scholar has the same point of view.If a scholar only went through one year of scholarship classes ,I myself wouldn't know their name or what they wrote about.People can put words into scholars mouths all they want,but have no clue on certain subjects unless they read their views themselves.

There was no single christianity in ancient times.There was christianities(Plural)

If you knew anything about scholarship you personally would know about the christianities that were in ancient times.The bible contradicts itself, Marcion proved that centuries ago.If it contradicts itself then what does that mean?The bible is just a one sided story,its only a hand full of sand in a beach.compared to the other contradicting scripture.

Pofessor bart Earman is a good one.Not every scholar has the same personal opinions.The gospel of thomas predates the new testament in some scholars personal opinions.That would have to mean that the christianity and catholicism rooted from gnosticism,and gnosticism isn't about some exoteric worshipping cult we see today.

@kmichael212 I just dn't see how burnings in the 14th century disprove the facts in literature centuries older than that - and I meant scholars who have PhDs and teach at major universities, not students in college with one course to confuse them...
