XAMPP allows you to run PHP/MySQL scripts from your desktop computer (or notebook). I'm using Windows Vista and I'm using XAMPP to develop scripts for an Apache Web Server. The PHP and MySQL are already integrated into the package. XAMPP is a variation of LAMP (Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP). Oh, did I mention that it is FREE? Try it out!
Good clear video Dave .. well done !
just one question. I want to learn php but have an old PC which has actually been in for repairs several times over the past couple of years. it was bought in 2001, so is well past it's sell by date
Would XAMPP work OK, or would it maybe just 'kill off my computer'
I would rather have the added effort of uploading every minor change on a test php file to my free Zymic test account than run the risk of losing my computer
What do you recommend please ?
