Some early footage of an "All hands working" structure fire that happened in the Woodsdale neighborhood of Wheeling, WV on Monday, Feb. 7, 2011 'A' Platoon. The alarm assignment was "All hands working" with an extra engine company. Companies on the scene: Engines 10, 2, 5, 11 Ladder 1, Rescue 1, C-1, C-2, C-5, C-7, Fire Investigators. Crews made an aggressive interior attack, but encountered problems with having the electric company turn off the power to the residence. During this time the fire extended from the bottom floor to the second floor and the attic. Firefighters were forced to make a defensive attack and Ladder 1's bucket was up and flowing water. Later, crews were able to re-enter the structure and extinguish all the hot spots. There were no injuries and the resident go out safely.

  • Back in "the day" they let us pull the meter to kill power. Is that no longer allowed?

  • @arpscec I do not believe so. They usually call the power company to come and do that.

  • no truck?

  • @devanoo2 yeah there was, ladder company 1

  • 4 to 5, but the 2 guys on the back are also Paramedics that staff Medic Squad 1 (ambulance) so if they are on another call it can be as low as 2 or 3.

  • very bad camera work, learn to hold the camera still.

  • what kind of camera?

  • @wheelingfire yet it takes the power company forever and a day to get there to kill the power......i responded to a fire once and we were in the overhaul phase when the power company rolled up and stated "ummmmm....if you want me to kill power to that house i can but i would have to call my supervisor for permission....im here on a reported power outage."

  • Wow my buddy and his wife live in the downstairs apartment about a year before this fire. Wild.

  • @TheDJBrian there isnt anything wrong with that are trucks are white an have green an gold stripes

  • @arpscec No, this is no longer allowed. If this happens (actually just happened on a fire my company ran a couple days ago), the department has to pay for this I believe.

  • @arpscec frowned upon now, acceptable only in extreme emergency

  • what happened to red fire trucks ORANGE REALLY PEOPLE lol

THAT GUY IS PROB STEAMIN THE FIREFIGHTERS IN SIDE

  • what happened to red fire trucks ORANGE REALLY PEOPLE lol
