Oh, Oh
She's the refugee.
I see your face,
I see you staring back at me.
Oh, Oh
She's the refugee
Her mama say one day she's gonna
live in America.

In the morning,
She is waiting,
Waiting for the ship to sail,
Sail away.

Her papa go to war.
He gonna fight,
But he don't know what for.
Her papa go to war
Her mama say one day he's
gonna come back from far away.

Help me.
How can you help me?
In the evening,
She is waiting,
Waiting for her man to come.
And take her by her hand.
And take her to this promise land.

She's a pretty face,
But at the wrong time and at the wrong place.
She's a pretty face.
Her mama say one days she's gonna live in America.
Yeah, America.

She's a refugee.
She's coming amn, she's coming for company.
She's a refugee.
Her mama say one day she's gonna live in America.

  • I love this song. I love the whole War album. But they had to change course in music, or else they'll be irrelevant. A reason why they are still successful and still the biggest band out there.

I wish they'd write more music like this one and like the old stuff they did. But they always have to evolve to stay relevant. They say that they look across to the Killers, Kings of Leon .. etc. They're trying to stay alive. And good job with that!

Hopefully, they'll win all 3 Grammys this year.

  • it doesn't say "oh, oh" but it says "war, war" :P

  • Thank U2:)>>

  • Nice Kid - Boy - Nice Eyes - lets Keep them that Way

  • once upon a time...THE U2!!

  • Come on now people. Just because you can't get into their newer stuff doesn't mean it isn't any good. I would have to say the change can be attributed to their continuing evolvement as musicians as well as varying interests over time. I like to refer to it as the In Through The Outdoor syndrome. As a youngster I was very disappointed by Zeppelins last release due to the fact that it just wasn't Zeppelin enough. Some 30 years later, I see it as probably their finest moment.

  • I read the Best post in University City, MO "Irish Cops Dont Eat Doughnuts"

  • seriously, this album was an OBSESSION with me. i listened to it non-stop all the way through every morning for all of freshman year. insanely great album. changed my life. long live U2!

  • It's nice to look back at when U2 was good. They started repeating themselves just about the time Bono was lauding the Pixies...and I never looked back.

  • @RDM714

yet even though they've evolved their songs still carry the U2 sound when stripped down to the basics.

  • WAR!!!! One of the very best, always and throughout time
