@dinavienna It wasn't ONLY by exclusion , it was rather forced upon them directly as can be, as Medieval Christians were not allowed to lend any money for interest, now imagine running an efficient economy without any Banking, and I doubt anyone was interested in just lending any money for the sake of kindness.. Therefore, it was the Jew who was collecting his loans, and of course, it is ALWAYS the collector who is the mean and greedy guy...

@MOE435 Of course finance and banking was forced upon Jews by the exclusion from artisanal occupations. If you would only be able to see it does not alter the fact there is some reality in the cliché of the Jewish banker also as the trade was forced upon them indirectly.
