dont leave the hands back... that will kill the bat speed. use every lever you have. if that front arm straightens, you lose that lever. you should let the hands rotate with the hips and then extend to the ball as it enters the zone. leaving the hands back will also make it harder to hit the inside pitch. its really unfortunate that coaches are so ignorant and teach kids incorrectly.
Heather, in case you did not notice, your hitter just hit 10 ground balls! There was no instruction there at all!!!

knob pulling works great for table setters,pro's dont squish the back side like that...
not a good pattern at all...the bottom side doesnt weight shift,the top side pulls...no whip no stretch
