A psychiatric nursing instructor asks about the senator's plan for parity in mental health coverage. March 30 2008 The Forum Harrisburg PA, Town Hall Meeting.
Psychiatry is not practical or helpful. It puts money in the pockets of greedy politicians. Psychiatry utilizes common sociological techniques such as alienation by making the people they "treat" believe they are at fault for being institutionalized and alienating them from the rest of society. When in reality, force-feeding the people tablets and falsely labeling them is ruining their confidence, free will and social lives....All for the benefit of the economical circulation of the practice.
Scientology is a bait-and-switch scheme. People come to Scientology hoping for increased intelligence, improved personality, and help in dealing with personal problems. They don't come in to learn a system of beliefs based on science fiction stories, infestations of alien spirits and exploding volcanos. People deserve to know the content of the upper levels when they sign up.
The most important thing is to vote!! Remember the Republicans vote the first tuesday of november and the democrats vote the second tuesday of november....get the word out!!
Probolem is that both Obama and McCain are in the pocket of Big Pharma. It's fully possible that both will acquiesce to the Pharma-Lobbyists' push for more govt payments of psychiatric abuse.
But there is some possibility that McCain may remember the GOP's traditional platform of small govt and fiscal thrift. (Bush totally betrayed those concepts.)
If McCain does recall t hose roots, he *could* curb part of our tax money paying to by Porsches for psychiatrists and pill sales executives.
Yes, most psychiatrists are goons, this is coming from about a decade of what I can only call abuse. For the most part they are in fact pill pushers, very few of them even practice therapy in any shape or form. Luckily now I'm doing quite well due to various reasons, a very good therapy program for one! Anyhow, I could rant for days about this institution...blah...haha
clearly he has no experience with psychiatric "cures" -- check out all the recent school shootings, and you'll find that each of these perpetrators were on psychiatric medication.
the "testing" he is talking about has no basis in science, and results in declaring most who take them "in need of psychiatric help." if these policies were to go into effect, they would be terrifically damaging to the world.
Not sure if Obama is just clueless or completely evil, but with the rate of suicide increasing 20% in one year among the military along with increased use of antidepressants (which have been proven ineffective and to cause suicide), I would say it's pretty certain that our number one pharmaceutical recipient this year has gone way off his rocker... so glad I realized this in time to NEVER vote for him.

The Psychiatric Industry should be curbed, not supported.
I know two people whose lives are crap after trusting psychiatrists to "help them over a rough spot with drugs."
The woman was kept in the (male) shrink's clinic 3 days and couldn't recall what happened, thanks to his drugs.
(The "72-hour hold" is legal. Shrinks use it if someone allegedly plans to harm self or others.)
The second was a brilliant young man who now can't think straight enough to earn a living. He lives off charity.
