7-6-10 Langley Fire

Double wide mobile home fire, located at 1311 West Langley. A press release issued by the Kern County Fire Department read;

RIDGECREST, CA - On Tuesday, July 06, 2010 at approximately 6:12 P.M. a call was received by the Kern County Fire Department for a structure fire in the 1300 block of W. Langley. Approximately 10 Kern County Fire Fighters responded to the fire assisted by China Lake Fire Dept and Ridgecrest Police Dept.

Arriving on scene, crews were faced with a double-wide mobile home heavily involved with fire. Crews ensured the home was clear of any residents and began an aggressive attack on the fire going into an interior operation. Fire crews were able to knock the fire down holding it to the kitchen and laundry area.

The fire damaged approximately $110,000 while crews were able to save around $50,000 in contents. The residents will stay with nearby family. The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time. No injuries were reported.

Have a working Smoke Alarm on every floor and in every room for early recognition of a fire.
