2c chopped almonds,
7 oz hershey bar,
1 lb butter,
2c sugar,

Chop Chocolate and Almonds and spread half of the mixture on a cookie sheet.

In a large Pyrex Glass Bowl (5 qt.) put 2 cups of sugar and 4 sticks (1lb. of butter). Put in Mircrowave on high for 3 mins. take out stir. Put back in Microwave and cook another 3 minutes. Take out (with oven mitts) and with a wired whisk "whisk" 2-3 minutes until homogenized (which means whisk until the butter and sugar is incorporated and looks thick and creamy). Put back in Microwave for 6 1/2 minutes. Take out and pour over the chocolate/almond mixture on the cookie sheet. Spread out the sugar/butter mixture with a spatula, top with remaining chocolate/almond mixture. Gently pat down and put in the refrigerator for about 2 hours. Cut into pieces and enjoy.

**If you have an older Microwave you might want to cook around 7 to 71/2 minutes.

  • I don't have a large glass bowl, so I'm making this on the stove tonight. Wish me luckkkk (:

  • How did it come out? Also, how long did you have to cook it?

  • I made this yesterday. Fantastic! My kids don't like nuts, so I made a second batch and added some candy cane Hershey's kisses to the chocolate and chopped candy canes really fine instead of the almonds. I added two crushed candy canes to the butter sugar mix (I was out of peppermint extract) and a couple of drops of red food coloring. The toffee turned a pretty peppermint pink. Completely different, but really great and festive looking! I love your recipes.

  • I think that is a great idea. Sort of like Pepermint Bark. Thanks for sharing.

  • FYI for those of you who don't have an enormous microwave ( like me ) use your stove top. I just made this in my microwave and it's a huge sticky mess in my kitchen. But so far, its looking really good !

  • I'm so sorry. I hope it still came out okay.

  • Your recipes always look so amazing! I have battled with obesity my entire life and have finally got down to a normal weight in the recent years, but I still have an incredible sweet tooth. I was wondering if you had any good low cal sweet treats that you like to make?

  • Everything is done in the microwave...thats my kind of recipe! Thanks!!
