Every time Olympic, the whole world use which country have more Gold Medal to count the Medal list, see what CNN did in 2008 Olympic? they change the counting method, no more count the no of Gold Medals, count by sum up all the medals. Why? Coz China win USA, this is CNN and USA. hahaha.

Much of this is probably just cultural differences. In the West, personal freedom is valued more than the East. But in the East, self-sacrifice is often seen as a virture. Hence Chinese people tend to regard those athletes who compete with damaged retinas or fractured ankles as heros/heroines.
