people hate this lens but it has done a lot to me even with my new D7000, the thing is it is in you that does the shooting and the lens is your slave and so far I'm still very happy with this lens and the price really does matter...

is taking photos at 300mm tat blury as well? i mean there was an obvious quality diff between 55 and 300. but wat about photos?

@10mism it's got about 6x MAGNIFICATION. Don't mix up zoom and magnification.Magnification is the capability of an optical system to give you the impression of being closer to an object than you actually are, zoom only means you can change the angle of view without changing the lens. If you wanna understand all this, read the wikipedia articles "zoom", "magnification" and "focal length".
Btw this is a 55-300mm lens, so it's got a 5.5x zoom.

@10mism For DSLR, there's no 30x zoom lens available. If you think that's necessary, go for a bridge camera like the Nikon P500.
