We are the fourth owner and fifth home to our 3 year-old standard poodle, Roxy. When we first got her 10 months ago, she was a wild child from ranch country in Montana. She hails from a fine kennel, but that was pretty much all she knew. Her owner's health had deteriorated, and she depended on others for her care. That is how we came to find her. Walking on a leash was tough to master, much less sit-stay, down, or most other canine good citizen behaviors. Now, with 6 months of training, a Novice Obedience graduate certificate, and living in the same house with the same people, she is having a good time going beyond basic obedience and learning some new tricks. Here she demonstrates her "Roll" routine prior to dinnertime.
