That's Great Thanks, My son does the gilding in our business and until he saw your videos he thought he was a fast gilder, I've been telling him he is good but there are guys out there that are rapid. He is made up with your skills and he will have a finger knife by Monday. Ill post a video when he gets the hang of it.

I would love to see the video. This technique takes some time to master but it's well worth the effort. The guy in the video is the best I have ever seen so don't worry if you can't match him. He is actually going slow in this video so that the camera can keep up.

Hi There do you know where I could get a finger knife like the one I have seen used or did you make it yourself?

That is self made using an aluminum can and masking tape. You can sharpen it with sandpaper.

This art is almost ancient and I like too much seeing this "rivalry" between the craftsmen.

People around Mediterranean, these of Byzantium and the Italians of the Renaissance were masters, and now it is very heartening to see people from all the world to love this precious art.
